UpQuantVal is a groundbreaking three-year project funded by the Interreg Upper Rhine program. Uniting 19 partners from Germany, France, and Switzerland—including leading universities, research institutes, and startups—the initiative aims to strengthen cross-border collaboration in quantum computing, sensing, and enabling technologies to build an integrated regional quantum ecosystem.
Advancing Quantum Innovation in Europe with UpQuantVal
Quantum technology has made remarkable strides in recent years, with innovations in quantum computing and quantum sensing poised to transform the digital and industrial foundations of our societies. To strengthen Europe’s leadership in this rapidly evolving field, QPerfect is proud to be part of the INTERREG project “UpQuantVal”, which aims to establish a leading European center for quantum science and technology.
A Cross-Border Quantum Collaboration
UpQuantVal unites 19 partners from Germany, France, and Switzerland, spanning academia, industry, and public institutions. Together, we are building synergies in education, research, and infrastructure to accelerate the adoption of quantum technologies and to shape a sustainable quantum ecosystem across the Upper Rhine region

QPerfect’s Role: Bridging Research and Real-World Application
At QPerfect, our mission is to make quantum computing practical and accessible. Within UpQuantVal, we contribute our expertise in quantum error correction, simulation, and virtual quantum systems through our flagship products — MIMIQ, a virtual quantum computer, and the Quantum Logic Unit (QLU), designed for scalable error correction.
Our participation focuses on connecting academic research with industrial needs, enabling application-driven quantum development. We work closely with partners to evaluate market readiness, identify use cases, and develop testbeds for emerging quantum technologies. By bridging theory and implementation, we help ensure that research outcomes can translate into real-world impact.
Strengthening Europe’s Quantum Ecosystem
Through UpQuantVal, QPerfect collaborates with leading universities, research centers, and technology companies to build a shared infrastructure for quantum innovation. This project serves as a model for cross-border cooperation and regional innovation, setting the stage for future partnerships among European quantum centers.
Engaging the Quantum Community
UpQuantVal reaches a diverse audience — from researchers and innovators to private enterprises and regional policymakers. It encourages collaboration between start-ups, SMEs, and large-scale industry players interested in exploring quantum computing use cases and contributes to shaping long-term quantum strategies in line with regional priorities.
